UNOPERA Concept and Formation
Eric Gairy, leader of Grenada in the late 1960s to mid 1970s (and later Sir Eric Gairy, knighted by the Queen of England in 1976 at the end of the first successful phase of UNOPERAtions) had a lifelong fascination with why Grenada, his Caribbean island home, was one of several apparent “hotspots” of “UFO” and other paranormal activity. At a closed session of the United Nations in New York in 1969, Gairy chaired a meeting of concerned world leaders and their scientific advisors, to try and formulate a strategy to deal with the escalating incursions by apparently paranormal entities, some of them disembodied. It was resolved, along lines pushed strongly by Gairy himself, that the United Nations would form a secret paramilitary force, in potential contravention of the UN Charter, but organized along the lines of a Non-Government Organization – whilst being in all ways sponsored by and hosted by member nations. The tension between the public and private activities of the United Nations has always been a source of tension and the formation of UNOPERA was no different.
At the same time as UNOPERA was founded, an incursion in England by a humanoid Alien (a Gjalite) began to reveal the true nature of the part of the “UFO” phenomenon that could not be explained by the other sources of sightings and encounters – Nazi survivals, secret space program technology, the hidden race from Antarctica, undersea dwelling Dagonites, Mound Builders or Madbears. Once the first glimmers of understanding of the existence of the Corridors of Power began, immediate efforts were made in all UNOPERA participating countries to “steer”, “guide” or “encourage” research into Quantum Teleportation, Collapsar Fuel Systems, Fusion technology and Dimensional Physics as applied to multi-layer holographic reality. It was out of these covertly encouraged areas of research that the eventual recent Australian discovery –or rediscovery- of Quantum Teleportation occurred.
LONGBOW
UNOPERA follows somewhat in the footsteps of a 1920s organisation called LONGBOW, the League of Nations “superteam” of highly unusual characters dedicated to fighting “definitely evil” villains and rebellious groups. With the rise of the dictators LONGBOW fell apart and was already disbanded well before World War 2.
UNOPERA acronym
“UNOPERA” or “U.N.O.P.E.R.A.” stands for the “United Nations Organized Paranormal Exploration and Research Agency”. It has an operational budget allocated from the Special Environmental Fund of the United Nations under a variety of cover programs. UNOPERA is administered and governed by the UNOPERA Committee, who meet in Geneva, Switzerland. UNOPERA head of military command was until fairly recently located in Southern England in the United Kingdom, close by the Saint Rushbrooke Boarding School where, coincidentally or not, many potential UNOPERAtives undergo training while school children. The military command has been relocated to a deep underground facility beneath 21st Century Focus / Epimethean Film Studios in Mercury, Nevada. Training of the child inductees is still primarily carried out at Saint Rushbrooke School.
UNOPERA command structure
UNOPERA is under the overall direction of a military commander of Brigadier-General rank or equivalent. This commander serves until relieved and may occupy the post for years or even decades. The longest serving and most fondly remembered commander to date was of British origin, the current commander being an Australian Brigadier-General previously serving in Australia’s Special Air Service (SAS). The more junior officers forming the Staff and leading various Groups and Sections are drawn from all participating nations and serve under secondment for periods as short as six months or for as long as five years, with one year’s service in UNOPERA being typical.
The Brigadier-General commanding is the administrative and field commanding leader of UNOPERA. Very unconventionally he or she (in the current case, he) will lead forces into battle, at considerable personal risk. This is due to the unusual training provided to the commanding officers of UNOPERA and the need to be “on scene” to make split second decisions that could affect the fate of a region of the Earth – or the whole planet. In less dramatic circumstances forces will be led by a junior officer of appropriate rank for the size of the forces or the sensitivity of the mission, with an organizational “bias” towards the use of Captains rather than Majors, perhaps due to the relative availability of Captains as opposed to Majors (or Colonels) when secondment of officers occurs.
All officers and men serving in UNOPERA wear a standardised field uniform based on current NATO urban camouflage and kit. They also are not only permitted but REQUIRED to only wear normal Suits of clothes when in the aboveground facility Film Studios, where all of them have been provided with “legends” – cover stories and identities explaining their presence as part of the production staff, financial staff or administration of 21st Century Focus / Epimethean Film Studios. The presence of an Australian as head of a film studio is explained as being due to the large amount of Asian regional investment that has been provided and that he is the “right man for the job”, even though his falsified past film production career would not stand close scrutiny. The real reason for an Australian being given control of UNOPERA is that it was a group of Australian scientists who discovered the Alien Key which in turn promises to provide the human race with both time travel and “faster than light” space travel.
The Brigadier-General reports directly to the Committee in Geneva and is often called there to explain recent operations in person.
The “legends” are created and maintained by the American secret intelligence agency DISC (Defense Industrial Security Command) who cooperate closely with UNOPERA. DISC personnel also provide the aboveground Security Guards for the “film studios”. Men In Black from DISC also visit witnesses to UNOPERA connected events, silencing witnesses using persuasion, coercion or if necessary a drug that induces permanent short term amnesia.
UNOPERA staff training
UNOPERA maintains its staff through two methods: secondment of serving military personnel from United Nations signatory nations, predominantly the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Russia; and by intensive internal training of inducted school children. The military personnel are the rank and file UNOPERA troops. The school children, together with a small group of Aliens, interdimensional creatures and even time travellers, become the UNOPERAtives, the Agents entrusted with the detection of Alien threats, countermeasures against Alien threats, and if necessary the interdiction of further use of specific destinations on Earth and the Moon by Aliens and their operatives.
