Ammonites were a diverse group of cephalopods that inhabited the Earth from 400 million years ago to 65 million years ago. Although ammonites are similar to a nautilus in appearance having a shell, it is currently believed that they are more closely related to octopi and squid. At least one gigantic cephalopod Kaiju resembling an ammonite lived in a submerged trench in the South Pacific. Ammonites were named after the syncretized Ennead god Amon / Ra, due to the resemblance of their shells to the god's curled horns in some depictions. The Kaiju Ammonite near the Mysterious Island is 80 feet long. All normal Kaiju rules apply to this creature.

    There is something very strange in the region of the South Pacific where the Giant Ammonite Kaiju originates. It would be very unsurprising to discover that not one but a whole colony of these enormous creatures live in the depths of that region.
