She-Devil is the great grand daughter of two world famous heroes, The Shadow of Justice and his wife the original She-Devil. Alice is related to many other heroes, from the Pulp Age when her great grand parents were actives down through all the decades since.
Unlike many other heroes She-Devil does not avoid political and geopolitical entanglements. Her family have been active in political causes from the Rape of the Congo through Free Tibet campaigns down to today. Some of her relatives were forced to flee Tibet by the invading Chinese.
Alice is also the CEO a director and major shareholder of Allard Industries, a multinational corporation with almost a century of cooperation with local landowners across the world such as Mayans, Punjabi, Tibetans, Nepalese, Ruritanians, Luthians and others. Allard Industries bought out American Radioactive Gas corporation after the scandal involving one of its directors being caught in a cave collapse and apparently killed.
Alice uses her megacorporation to fight injustice in her secret identity at the same time as her public identity She-Devil battles the more exotic threats. When in civilian disguise Alice feigns weakness and decadence with great success. Her Phenomenal personal fortune has a large slice devoted to buying the most sophisticated disguise components including fake ears and hair for her costumed appearance, tiny contact lens heads-up displays faking different eye color and at the same time giving her targeting information conferring +4RS on all attacks and +5RS on all Evade and Dodge rolls, and a series of fake forensic traces designed to be left behind where she operates. She also uses cutouts - agents who do not know for whom they work - to suppress all evidence of her activities and all possible forensic traces that could lead to her being identified.
From the 1920s to now Alice and her family have also been ferocious gangbusters, attacking organized crime especially The Arm as well as its political intelligence agency allies like CIA.
She-Devil has no powers. She is the pinnacle of human development and training. In fact there has never been a known super-powered member of her family from 1906 to 2023. Most super-powered villains assume she is some sort of demigod or supernatural powered monster, possibly even a vampire. Heroes likewise assume that she must have an array of super powers to explain her success in crimefighting. In fact it just comes down to misdirection, charisma and extreme training.
Limitations:
- Hunted by The Arm: The Arm have a standing one million dollar bounty out on She-Devil. Some desperado is usually around trying to collect.
- Hunted by CIA: CIA constantly try and discover She-Devil's secret identity. They have assassination teams ready to roll at all times for the day when they discover who she "really" is.
- SMEARED: this character is the victim of a sustained smear campaign by powerful forces. At all times whenever possible the compliant prostitute media will retail lies about this character. This affects their Popularity, reducing it by 10 at all times.
- THIS IS THE REAL ME: She-Devil is the real person; Alice Gale-Allard is the disguise. This has been true of Allards all the way back to her Great Grandfather, The Shadow of Justice.
- ARCH-NEMESIS: The super-villain Green Witch is the sworn arch-nemesis of She-Devil. Green Witch blames She-Devil for her family's misfortunes dating back to when Green Witch was a girl and She-Devil "failed to rescue her family." In reality, Green Witch's family were criminals running a drug lab and it was their own carelessness that killed them. This will NEVER be accepted by Green Witch who has based her entire life and persona on revenge against She-Devil.
- Hunted by the Chinese government: The Red Chinese have been sworn enemies of She-Devil for her entire career and they are fairly sure about her family heritage. What they do not know is that she is actually the CEO of Allard Industries, they assume as do most people she is the bodyguard of the CEO.
Notes:
She-Devil is a mix of both street level vigilante and high flying adventurer going on the most fantastic and unimaginable adventures beyond human comprehension. At heart, she is a down to earth character who prefers to regulate the streets. But when called upon she will go anywhere and oppose any evil, not without fear - but without cowardice.
