The Raven saw an advertisement in a newspaper calling on heroes to try out for a new super team and went to the address listed. When he arrived, he discovered that a previous applicant, a female hero called Renegade, had been captured by the supervillain Viron and that the super team tryouts was a trap by Vyron to eliminate heroes before he began a city-wide crime spreed. Raven rescued the girl, and helped her defeat Viron. They then shared a kiss in the dark with neither seeing the other unmasked. Since then in addition to helping Renegade during teamups, Raven has also teamed up with other heroes on several occasions.

- MAGICAL SUIT OF ARMOR: Raven's costume is actually a magical suit of armor with Material Strength and armor protection of Phenomenal (100) intensity. The red jewelled eyes of the costume give him SUPER SENSES - VISION - Telescopic Vision (World Class) and Infrared Vision (World Class).

Limitations:
Raven has no real Limitations but by nature he is quiet and almost taciturn and has the disconcerting habit of quietly leaving during a pause in conversation, leaving whoever he is talking to talking to themselves until they realize he's gone.
Notes:: As a team player who still behaves like a loner, Raven is an excellent temporary team mate or teamup character to use especially with inexperienced heroes or heroes who need some increase in power level for an adventure.
