Powers:
By studying the mysteries of the East, wealthy young scientist Howard Hall (1912-1994) is able to give his shadow physical powers such as reaching great distances to touch things, having a good deal of its own strength, and being able to speak, hear, and act on its own. To help him in his fight against crime, he straps flashlights to his ankles so that, when he turns them on, he has a shadow to control. He only needs a bright light source to go into action against the bad guys as Nightshade.

  • Combined Powers: DUPLICATE - Narrow Effect, single Duplicate, Alternate Form- Shadow, Telekinesis, Elasticity - Stretching (applied to the Shadow-Form) (Fantastic): Howard Hall's Shadow-Form, while still attached to him like a normal shadow would be, can stretch out, affect things physically using Telekinesis to simulate its Strength with Fantastic Intensity and is still nevertheless a Shadow Form - with the full Wall Crawling and controllable Invisibility of a Shadow Form (at Fantastic intensity) while still being able to affect the physical world.

    Limitations:
    Howard Hall must be able to cast a shadow for his Shadow-Form to work. If he can't - his Combined Powers are not able to be used until he can.

    Notes::
    Experiments using the Hall Shadow-Form continued worldwide for decades. One notable incident, covered up by a compliant media, involved a series of bizarre burning deaths caused by a man who was the subject of what were at the time erroneously thought to be "Dark Matter" experiments. Several other heroes and villains with some form of solid shadow Shadow-Form have appeared since Howard Hall / Nightshade originally appeared.
