Powers:
Rueben Rezenik's great grandfather was a 12 year old orphan in Colorado at the same time as Rueben Rueben in the early 1940s. He witnessed Rueben Rueben entering the mysterious castle, and quickly realized that Rueben Rueben and Red Rube were one and the same. Unable to enter the castle he nevertheless made copious notes about everything. Decades later, Rueben Rezenik inherited his great grandfather's personal property, amongst it the notes on Red Rube. Rezenik tracked down the valley in Colorado where the castle, now an abandoned ruin, was located, and entered it. Inside, he was contacted by a mysterious evil force, hovering over a skeleton which it reanimated as The Bonesman. The Bonesman then told Rezenik that he also could gain the powers of Red Rube (or nearest equivalent) by channeling the spirits of the many dead crooks in the Rezinik family and what made them great villains: Violence, Strength, Perseverance, Toughness, and Low Cunning.
Rueben Rezinik tried shouting “Nebeurkinezer!” and was immediately turned into Blue Rube -- evil where Red Rube is good, savage where Red Rube is kind and cunning where Red Rube is courageous. It seems Nebeurkinezer (Rezinik's name backwards) is also the True Name of the entity that forms his Alter Ego.

Rueben Rezinik is a sometime member of the villain team The Nogoodniks and has friendly relations with many supervillains. He tries to be a good team player, realizing that although he is extremely powerful it's good to have fall guys around, and have some other characters nearby for the rare occasions when he needs serious help.

KNOWN TO POLICE: the character has a serious criminal record and is constantly watched by law enforcement.
Notes:
Rueben Rezinik is a coward, a cheat and a ruthless thief. His Alter Ego is if anything worse since it amplifies his criminal tendencies and overcompensates for his human form's cowardice by being a brutal overpowering thug as well. Blue Rube has killed many people with his bare hands and revels in physical combat - until it turns against him. Then the coward at his core emerges once more.
