Sir Giles of Clewsby is an evil knight and enemy of King Arthur. Through the magic of the sorcerer Black Barton he can transform into the Barghest, a "fearful night-beast" (a kind of Hellhound, see below). Those who were bitten by the Barghest were cursed to that they would gradually weaken and die within six hours. Black Barton followed him around and forced his victims to come to Clewsby Castle and swear fealty to him in return for having the curse lifted.

  • TRANSFORMATION (Animals) (Fantastic) Limitation - Narrow Effect - can only shapeshift into Barghest creature form.
  • (As the Barghest)
  • HELLHOUND - the Barghest is a kind of Hellhound, with a bite that inflicts Affliction in addition to Lethal Melee.
  • NIGHTVISION (Phenomenal)
  • AFFLICTION (Barghest wasting disease, kills in 6 hours) (Fantastic)

  • BARGHEST (HELLHOUND VARIANT)

A hellhound is a magical eldritch Dog or Wolf that is a guardian or a servant of hell, the devil, vengeance or the Underworld. Hellhounds occur in mythologies around the world, with the best known examples being Cerberus from Greek mythology, Garmr from Norse mythology, the black dogs of English and Welsh folklore, and the fairy hounds of Celtic mythology. Hellhounds are commonly black, anomalously overgrown, supernaturally strong, and often have red eyes or are accompanied by flames. In the case of the Barghest, the creature is actually a transformation shape assumed by the evil knight Sir Giles of Clewsby. However it is not known if the Barghest can re-manifest in someone else should Sir Giles be slain.
