ANIMALS

In FASERIP, Animals are characters. They have the same statistics as human characters, albeit with Ranks wildly different in most cases.

Humanoid Animals that are directly converted somehow from basic normal stock will have as far as possible the same size and physical statistics as the unchanged version of the creature. If the conversion process that turns them into a humanoid is more radical and shrinks or grows them to a size within the human range, their Strength and likely Endurance will raise or lower to be within the normal non-powered human range. There is a lot of variation so there is no simple one rule fits all answer to this.

Prehistoric Animals have, as far as is known, vanished from contemporary Earth in almost all cases. However, in a game with time travel, other planets with different ecologies, parallel worlds at different points in a similar history and super-science and magic, Prehistoric Animals most certainly will show up in the game world at some point. As a general template to apply to a modern Animal or an Animal similar to a modern Animal, a Prehistoric version is much bigger - between 1 and 10 feet bigger at the shoulder; and has Fighting, Strength and Endurance one Rank higher than the modern equivalent.

Super-Animals as Pets are an Animal which is physically normal or nearly so (other than any Powers it has) but which has the same Ranks for its Psyche, Intuition and Reason as a human character (unless its basic Animal Rank for that statistic is higher). These sorts of Super-Animals usually are unable to speak unless they are a talking bird or telepathic, but that can be overruled if the players and gamemaster agree. Or a compromise could be that the Animal growls, miaows or otherwise makes a barely understandable attempt to speak in emergencies.

Tiny Animals do not have statistics as such because all of their physical statistics would be Zero or Terrible at best. Their Health will never be higher than 6. If characters are shrunk then the tiny Animals should be treated as "normal" size with similar statistics to full size animals that they resemble.

Flocks, Swarms, Packs and Schools of Animals have a total Health equal to the number of Animals in the group times the Health of a single Animal, for example a flock of ten Bats, which are a Tiny Animal with a Health of say 2, would have a Health of 20. Groups of Animals that can make a Group Attack such as a Pack of wild Dogs, a hunting pack of Sharks in feeding frenzy or a flock of Birds sent to attack a character make a single attack roll using the Fighting score of a single Animal forming the group, but deliver 1d10+1 amounts of the individual damage from that single roll, inflicting that multiple of damage. This random roll cannot exceed the number of Animals attacking as a group, for example 8 Lions attacking cannot do 9, 10 or 11 times the damage, only a maximum of 8.

An Animal Group attacking is thus treated as a single individual. As members of the group are rendered unconscious, killed or driven off, the group is reduced in Health by the same multiple of Animals as has been killed or driven off. For example a swarm of 10 Giant Ants reduced to 5 Giant Ants has half of the "full" Health of the original swarm.

ALLIGATOR

These large and potentially lethal amphibious reptiles are not prone to attack unless hungry or when a female is protecting a nest of eggs or baby Alligators. Alligators do Lethal Melee damage with their teeth. This is a slashing and piercing attack equivalent to an edged weapon.

Alligators move at Speed Average on land, Decent in the water and if making an attack Great for up to three rounds. Alligators are found in subtropical and tropical rivers, swamps and in the sewers of some large cities, but only in small numbers.

Notes:
  • Crocodiles are larger much more aggressive cousins of Alligators (Fighting Great). There are also Saltwater Crocodiles which are enormous, highly aggressive and even more dangerous (Fighting World Class, World Class damage with their bite).
  • There are smaller crocodiles species such as Caiman in South America, India, China and the middle east. Although they are smaller than Alligators they are more dangerous so their statistics are unchanged.

APE

The arbitrary classification of an Ape is a large simian that has no tail. This excludes some Mandrills and Baboons - but not others. In this roster Baboons and Mandrills are treated separately. The creatures covered by the Ape entry are the Orangutan, the Chimp and the Gorilla. Gorillas are larger than a human, both Orangutans and Chimps are in most cases smaller than a human. Due to their larger size and prodigious Strength Gorillas have Fighting of Decent, Strength of Great and Endurance of World Class. Fortunately they are usually extremely shy and peaceful. Unlike the humans who hunt them for food, sport or trophies.

Notes:
  • The Apes of the Virunga Ape City Refuge are a branch of the gorilloid Ape that has diverged long ago into a highly intelligent species fully capable of speech and developing technology more than a match for humans.
  • A separate subspecies of Chimp, or a species closely related to them are the Lion Killers of the Congo or Bili Apes. They stand 6 feet tall and are more heavily built than a human. They prefer to walk upright, gather to howl at the full moon in ritual behavior and make full use of ambush, surprise attack and unit tactics when battling their chosen prey of Lions - or people. They have Decent Fighting, Decent Agility, Great Strength and Great Endurance. They also have bad tempers and almost evil cruel dispositions that make them every bit the equal of any human.

BABOON

Baboons are large monkeys similar in size to a Dog. Prehistoric Baboons were the size of humans or larger. Baboons and the brightly colored Mandrills have fearsome jaws that deliver Great damage bites. Baboons and Mandrills can run for short sprints at Decent Speed and receive a +4RS bonus on all climbing rolls. Baboons have an ancient enmity with Leopards who hunt Baboons as a great delicacy. In Ancient Egypt domesticated Baboons served as pets and as crew on sailing ships.

Notes:
  • The Mandrill is native to west central Africa. It is one of the most colorful mammals in the world, with red and blue skin on its face and posterior. The species is sexually dimorphic, as males have a larger body, longer canine teeth and brighter coloring. It was traditionally thought to be closely related to the Baboons but science has more recently determined that they are not. The statistics however are identical.

BEAR

Bears include the grizzly, brown bear, and polar bear. The polar bear has Great Fighting, Fantastic Strength and Fantastic Endurance. The Prehistoric Cave Bear has much shorter back legs and longer arms. It has the same statistics as the polar bear but also has Super Senses: Sense of Smell.

These large carnivores have been known to attack unwary humans, and inflict Lethal Melee attack damage with their teeth and claws as well as Wrestling and Grappling attacks (Bear Hugs). They move Decent Speed at top speed but usually not for very long.

Notes:
  • In the Himalayas there is a type of bear known as the Migou which has a telepathic power to cause powerful hallucinations at World Class Rank. Those suffering these hallucinations remain in a daze right up until when the Migou devours them alive, only awakening when their Health is reduced to half its normal maximum or below.

BIG CATS

The arbitrary classification of Big Cats includes tigers, pumas, leopards, cheetah and extinct or believed extinct animals such as the larger American Lion (+1 Rank on Strength and Endurance), the Cape Lion (black maned and again +1 Rank on Strength and Endurance as well as Bad Reason). They are, in their natural state, predators which avoid humans, though there are “man-killer” versions of each. Cheetah are extremely fast (Great Speed) but are also somewhat smaller than other Big Cats which makes them surprisingly docile. For this reason they were frequently kept as Pets in Ancient Egypt.

Notes:
  • The Sussex Panther is large black Big Cat that lives in Sussex, England. Despite the high human population there are small overgrown or wild areas as well as abandoned railway tunnels and small cave systems in the region where this creature makes its home. They are sometimes seen in daylight but more frequently at night. Other similar "out of place" Big Cats are seen in Australia, Canada and the USA.

CAT

Cats include ordinary house cats and small wildcats. They inflict Lethal Melee attack damage with their claws. They cannot inflict a Kill result against human or larger targets. Cats can make an Endurance roll to run at Decent Speed for two rounds otherwise their Speed is never better than Bad.

CATTLE

Statistics for cattle apply to all similar herd animals, including bison, normal African zebras, gnu and other herbivores. Cattle are by and large inoffensive, but if something surprises them such as a gunshot or other loud noise, thunder storm or sudden appearance of a threat such as a predator cattle will stampede if they fail a Psyche roll (one roll for the whole herd). Anyone in the path of the stampede suffers a Charging attack by the herd of cows as a group attack with a bonus of +3RS Strength and Endurance.

Notes:
  • The Auroch was a wild and unable to be tamed kind of giant cattle species that died out in the 1700s AD. Auroch Strength and Endurance were one Rank higher than modern cows, they were over 2 feet taller at the shoulder and both males and females had prodigious horns inflicting World Class damage as a piercing Lethal Melee attack.

DINOSAURS

Dinosaurs have features of modern birds, mammals and reptiles. Some had smooth or pebbled reptilian skin with area of fur or hair. Some had feathers or proto-feather scales. Some Dinosaurs were enormous, with typical sizes ranging from 30 to 90 feet. There were also species adapted to cold, water, desert and the air with bat-like or bird like wings. Tiny and small species of dinosaurs were often omnivores similar to modern birds.

Predatory dinosaurs have a Speed of Decent, most others have Average Speed.

A game with Kaiju should treat Dinosaurs as small proto-Kaiju, and consider whether full size Kaiju existed along with Dinosaurs.

In many if not most comicbook universes, Dinosaurs absolutely coexisted with several subspecies of humans as well as apemen and intelligent dinosaur humanoids. The superhero Strongorr adventures in such a prehistoric mishmash world.

Several present day Refuges and microstates are still home to prehistoric species, including Dinosaurs.

Giant Armored Dinosaur

  • The Giant Armored Dinosaurs include the Stegosaurus, three horned Triceratops, Multiple horned Styracosaurus and the smaller Ceratopsians resembling giant Chameleons. Ceratopsians have heavily armored heads providing Great armored protection. The others named have plates that provide Great body armor, and inflict edged Lethal Melee attack damage with their horns and sharp tails. All of these creatures receive a +2RS bonus when charging.
  • Surprisingly, some of these creatures were in fact furry or hairy in real life, with plates or armored knobs emerging from downy fluff or even scales similar to feathers.

DOG

Dogs include ordinary pet dogs. guard dogs, wild dogs, coyotes and wolves. They inflict Lethal Melee attack damage with their bites. Other than the largest dogs, they cannot inflict a Kill result against human or larger targets. Dogs have Super Senses: Sense of Smell and a +2RS to all tracking type rolls.

No other known species has every been bred into the variety of shapes and sizes as the dog.

DOLPHIN

Dolphins are highly intelligent aquatic mammals. They have their own language. Dolphins can swim at Fantastic Speed and use a Blast (Sonic Blast) Power to stun or kill prey. They also have Super Senses Power - Sonar.

Dolphins can charge a target with a +2RS bonus on the attack and if successful do Astounding damage as a kind of living torpedo.

Dolphins have an ancient enmity with Sharks.

Depending on the type of game being run, there is no reason in principle not to have one or more Dolphin superheroes in the game.

ELEPHANT

Elephantidae is a family of large, herbivorous proboscidean mammals collectively called elephants and mammoths. These are terrestrial large mammals with a snout modified into a trunk and teeth modified into tusks. Most genera and species in the family are extinct. Only two genera, Loxodonta (African elephants) and Elephas (Asiatic elephants), are living. In Prehistoric times there were a profusion of species of Elephants from Horse size or smaller to true giants standing 30 feet at the shoulder.

Elephants can live up to 70 years in the wild. They communicate by touch, sight, smell, and sound; elephants use infrasound and seismic communication over long distances. Elephant intelligence has been compared with that of primates and cetaceans. They have self-awareness, and show empathy for dying and dead family members. Elephants move at Decent Speed, unphased as to how much they carry or drag. If it is too heavy, they stop moving or drop the cargo.

Elephants may make Blunt Melee attacks if threatened, or use their tusks to make Lethal Melee attacks as if using an Over-Sized Weapon. Elephants may be trained to withstand frightening and unfamiliar experiences and function as gigantic Steeds or war machines. Elephant's Speed is Decent although with a very heavy load or pulling a cart or other heavy burden it drops one Rank to Average. Certain individual elephants such as the Steeds of superheroes, may have Specialities, Talents or higher Reason, Intuition, or Psyche than normal Elephants.

  • Mialimu Tiambuz: The Mountain That Walks is an Elephant Kaiju. It stands 150 feet at the shoulder and has 30 foot long tusks that do Phenomenal Lethal Melee damage in a Decent radius when the creature spins and turns, shaking its head back and forth. Mialimu Tiambuz usually sleeps in a swamp in dense jungle but is awaken when the Totem Drums of his worshippers are struck in the correct rhythm. Mialimu Tiambuz has Astounding Fighting, Astounding Strength and Single Shift Endurance. It also has the Power of Immortality.

GIANT ANTS

Once common in Veltopsi and the surround region of Central Africa, as well as in certain valleys in Central and South America, Giant Ants are now critically endangered and have become extinct in most of their original range. Giant Ants attack with their strong jaws and sharp mandibles, tearing and sawing through flesh. They begin to eat their victims alive, or carry them back to their nests to feed their babies. Some South American species have a poison sting that causes Decent damage and Affliction (Poison).

GIANT EAGLE

Giant Eagles have an average wingspan of 90 feet, but the largest of their species have a wingspan of 180 feet. These super-eagles are not only twice the size but have Speed Astounding and Fighting of Rank World Class.

Typical Giant Eagles have Decent Reason, Great Fighting and Decent Psyche.

All Giant Eagles have Power Super Senses - Telescopic Vision.

Giant Eagle claws deliver World Class Lethal Melee damage and are sharp enough to scratch steel.

Giant Vultures, Giant Condors, Truly enormous Seagulls and Giant Owls can be handled with basically identical statistics. Owls have Nightvision and Telescopic Vision, the others do not.

GIANT SPIDERS

Giant Spiders are gigantic spiders created through magic, genetic engineering or the revival of Prehistoric giant arachnids long since lost to the passing of time. In the modern world the only survivors of this Animal live deep underground. Giant Spiders have a poison bit that causes Decent damage and Affliction (Poison).

Most Giant Spiders encountered will be female since after mating this Amazonian race devours its males.

  • In the far future a Mistress Race of these Animals evolves on a distant planet in another star system where a failed human colony introduced spiders into the local environment. The Mistress Giant Spiders have Excellent Reason, World Class Psyche and also have the Powers EPS, Mind Control and Blast (Mental Blast).

HIPPOPOTAMUS

Hippos are the world’s third-largest land mammals after elephants and white rhinos. Males can reach lengths of 10.8 to 16.5 feet, and weigh up to 9,920 pounds, while females weigh up to 3,000 pounds. These muscular animals have round torsos and pinkish brown bodies with two-inch-thick, waterproof skin, and short, stout legs. Hippos can reach speeds of up to 22 miles per hour on land over short distances. In water they bounce and swim at Decent Speed.

Hippos have impressive teeth inside their huge mouths. Their molars are used for eating plants while their long, sharp canines—which can reach 20 inches—are for fighting. Their remarkably strong jaws can open to 180 degrees and their bite is nearly three times stronger than a lion’s. One bite from a hippo can cut a human body in half.

HORSE

Horses are adapted to run, allowing them to quickly escape predators, and possess an excellent sense of balance and a strong fight-or-flight response. Related to this need to flee from predators in the wild is an unusual trait: horses are able to sleep both standing up and lying down, with younger horses tending to sleep significantly more than adults. Horses run from Shetland ponies to Clydesdales and enormous Percherons, trained to be Medieval knight's warhorses or Destriers. Horses may make Blunt Melee attacks if threatened, but normally seek to flee threatening situations such as fires, thunder storms and battles. Horses may be trained to withstand such challenges as were the Destriers. Horses Speed is Great although with a very heavy load or pulling a cart or other heavy burden it drops one Rank to Decent. Certain individual horses such as the Steeds of superheroes, may have Specialities, Talents or higher Reason, Intuition, or Psyche than normal Horses.

  • Pegasus: A Pegasus is a winged horse. It moves in the air with wings flapping and legs "galloping" as though it is a normal Horse on the ground. It moves at the same rates of Speed as a normal Horse.
  • Horse-like creatures move at the same Speed as horses. That includes
    • Riding Lizards are horse-shaped giant lizards with dragon-like heads but are otherwise much the same as Horses except they are omnivores not herbivores;
    • Sea Horses or Merhippuses are aquatic horse-like creatures with rubbery webbed fins instead of hooves. They cannot move on land. They are water breathers but can move on the surface for up to a day at a time if their rider cannot breathe water or is not wearing underwater survival gear;
    • Unicorns (only able to be ridden by virgins, they will attack or flee from anyone else);
    • Zebras (smaller and weaker than Horses, their Speed is Average).

INSECT SWARM

A single insect or spider or other arthropod has no meaningful statistics and a Health of 1. Insect Swarms (or Swarms of other "bugs") are another matter entirely. When an Insect Swarm is reduced to 20% of its Health or below, each round a character can attempt to break up the swarm, "killing" it, by making a Blunt Melee attack on it. If this attack is successful the Swarm reverts to being disorganized individual creatures of no further threat.

Insect Swarms cause Average damage and also inflict Affliction (Painful Sting) or Affliction (Painful Bite) or Affliction (Poison).

KILLER WHALE

The killer whale, also known as Orca, is the apex predator of the modern ocean. They feed on not only typical food fish but also seals, sea lions and sharks including the most dangerous and largest shark species. Killer Whales are the largest member of the Dolphin family and each tribe or family of Orca has slight variations in physical appearance, language and diet. Adult Killer Whales are 30 feet long, females are slightly smaller than males and males have noticeably larger flippers and tails.

Killer Whales are found in every ocean in the world. Other than incredibly rare occasions when a human is mistaken for some other kind of animal and bitten, Killer Whales recognize humans and do not attack or eat them.

Killer Whales have distinctive black and white bodies.

Killer Whales can live up to 70 years in the wild. They are intelligent and have their own language. They move at World Class speed and can leap out of the ocean to Average height.

Killer Whales live in family or tribe groups of 10 to 30 individuals. These groups are called Pods.

  • There are only small numbers of Killer Whales in each region of the world's oceans. As Apex Predators this is partly due to their predation habits and long life spans but in modern times it is also due to humans taking all of their food by overfishing and by human polluting the waters they live in. Despite this, free Killer Whales in the wild still do not attack humans.

MONKEY

Monkeys include all small primates not covered under the Ape or Baboon entries but their statistics can also be used for Lemurs, Raccoons and Possums. Monkeys do not have the strength of Apes. Monkeys cannot make Kill or Slam results in their attacks, but can manipulate objects and are easily trained.

  • Monkeys are frequently used for medical experiments. Feral populations of escaped laboratory Monkeys exist in several southern states of the USA.

OCTOPUS

An octopus is a soft-bodied, eight-limbed mollusc.There are over 300 species but there are also squids, cuttlefish, and nautiloids. The soft body of an Octopus can radically alter its shape and change its texture and coloration giving the Octopus the Power of Invisibility at Decent Rank through its camouflage. An Octopus has Average Elasticity which it uses normally to squeeze through tiny gaps or openings. They trail their eight appendages behind them as they swim. They have a siphon which is used for both breathing and movement, by expelling a jet of water. Octopuses have a complex nervous system and Great sense of sight, and are among the most intelligent of all invertebrates.

The statistics below are for a Giant Octopus or Squid. Squid are much less intelligent than Octopuses (Terrible Reason) and much more aggressive.

Nautiloids are a nearly extinct family related to the Octopus. They have Decent armored shells which they retreat inside when threatened.

PIG

Pigs are all members of the Wild Boar family but includes for game purposes (since the statistics will be identical) Wart Hogs as well. Pig breeds range in size from 3 feet long to 6 feet long or more. Pigs have tusks that they use to dig for food but also in fights. These tusks do World Class Lethal Melee damage to any target struck. Pigs have Super Senses: Sense of Smell and a +2RS to all tracking type rolls.

Devil Pigs, crossbreeded genetically engineered farm pigs that have escaped and interbred with Wild Boar, are 8 feet long and 8 feet tall at the shoulder and do Astounding damage with their tusks or bite.

A group of pigs is called a passel, a team, or a sounder. The animal's bones, hide, and bristles are also used in a huge variety of products. Pigs are omnivores that will voraciously eat almost anything organic they are given.

Pigs are highly intelligent and can make excellent Pets until they get too big. They are frequently used in medical transplant and other types of human-oriented experiments.

  • Several pantheons of Gods include Divine Swine or gigantic mythic Pigs as part of their extended pantheon of supernatural or superhuman beings. These mythic Pigs have physical statistics two Ranks higher than Earthly Pigs and are usually resplendent with golden bristles, silver skin and metallic tusks or other incredible non-Earthly featurs.
  • In addition to "standard" Prehistoric Pigs there was also until recent historical times a gigantic (12 feet long, 10 feet at the shoulder) longer-necked Prehistoric Pig known as a Katobleps. It can emit an Average range belch of poison gas which has the effect of Affliction (Tear Gas). The head of the Katobleps is disproportionately long compared to its body and is frequently pointed at the ground since the creature must root for food constantly.

PTEROSAUR

Pterosaurs are Prehistoric flying reptiles (the name means "winged lizard") with bat-like wings. Also similar to bats, the creatures' bodies are covered with down soft fur. They have long and strong beak-like jaws. They ranged in size from tiny to gigantic and filled all the ecological niches now filled by bats and birds, but also were in some cases a generalized omnivore with flight equivalent to a flying Pig or Dog, able to run on the ground, swim and of course fly. The statistics here are for a middle of the road Horse-sized Pterosaur with a wingspan of 50 feet. Such a creature is unable to carry a rider. The largest of the Pterosaurs could carry a single rider.

Male Pterosaurs have bright markings used to attract a mate and in mating dances and duels between males.

Pterosaur claws deliver Decent Lethal Melee damage and their bite does Great Lethal Melee damage. They will also attempt to pick up a victim then drop it from altitude to cripple or kill it before eating it.

Nocturnal Pterosaurs have Super Senses: Radar / Sonar (Echo Location) used to hunt silently (to human ears at least).

Pterosaurs glide at Decent Speed and can accelerate to World Class Speed using convection.

  • Reports and even the occasional video of Pterosaurs continue to this day. There is some reliable evidence of an Eagle sized Pterosaur still surviving in remote cliff-face caves in the Philippines and the Pacific Islands.

RAT PACK

A single rat no meaningful statistics other than Bad Reason and a Health of 1. Rat Packs (or Swarms of other small biting mammals) are another matter entirely. When a Rat Pack is reduced to 20% of its Health or below, each round a character can attempt to break up the Pack, "killing" it, by making a Blunt Melee attack on it. If this attack is successful the Pack reverts to being disorganized individual creatures of no further threat.

Rat Packs cause Average damage and also inflict Affliction (Disease).

RHINOCEROS (RHINO)

Rhinoceros or "Rhino", plural rhinoceroses, rhinoceros, or rhinoceri, are a group of six living species and an extinct Prehistoric giant woolly (wool covered) Ice Age breed of giant horn-bearing herbivores that include some of the largest living land mammals. Only African and Asian elephants are taller at the shoulder than the two largest rhinoceros species, the White, or square-lipped, Rhinoceros which some divide into two species (northern white rhinoceros [C. cottoni] and southern white rhinoceros [C. simum]), and the Indian greater one-horned, rhinoceros. The two horned White Rhinoceros and Black Rhinoceros live in Africa, while the Indian rhinoceros, the Javan rhinoceros, and the Sumatran rhinoceros live in Asia. The precarious state of the surviving species is in direct contrast to the pre-human history of this group as one of the most successful lineages of hoofed mammals. Today the total population of all the rhinoceros species combined is probably fewer than 30,000. Rhinoceroses today are restricted to eastern and southern Africa and to subtropical and tropical Asia.

Rhinos have a +3RS bonus to all Charging rolls. They can also Stampede (see Cattle for stampede rules).

SEAL

Seals are a carnivorous, fin-footed, semiaquatic, mammals. Most seals live in saltwater such as seas and oceans. Sea Lions and Leopard Seals are aggressive and have ferocious bites - Great damage in Lethal Melee for Sea Lions and World Class damage for Leopard Seals. Other Seals are more playful with humans than aggressive although they will attack anyone approaching their young. Walruses are huge Seals with tusks. These tusks are used in mating battles by males but can also be used to deliver piercing attacks in Lethal Melee. All large Seals can deliver Blunt Melee damage by simply rolling on or belly flopping on smaller creatures or humans.

All Seals are live bearers, giving birth on land before leading their babies into the water for the first time where they rapidly learn to swim, if they survive predation.

Seals can hold their breath for a half hour, an hour or more with a successful Endurance roll. They can also dive deep in the ocean and put on bursts of speed up to 25 miles per hour.

Walruses have Adaptation Power - Defensive - Limitation being they do not take damage from cold. Other Seal species are considered to be 3 Ranks higher in Endurance when dealing with Cold type damage.

SHARK

Sharks have cartilage instead of true skeletons and are related to Rays such as Stingrays. Treat a large Stingray as a small Shark with no bite attack and with a Lethal Melee attack that inflicts Terrible damage and Affliction (lethal poison). Sharks range in size from Dog sized to the Whale Shark which is 40 feet long but harmless. Typical Sharks in the game are 12 feet long and dangerous in all circumstances. Sharks don't automatically attack but they can suddenly be provoked, especially by blood in the water or if they fear being trapped.

Sharks attacked with their bite with Lethal Melee Great damage.

Dolphins have an ancient enmity with Sharks. It isn't reciprocated; Sharks lack the intelligence to hold grudges and couldn't care less anyway.

Sharks have Super Senses: Sense of Smell and a +2RS to all tracking type rolls increasing to +4RS when tracking spilled blood.

SNAKES

There are two types of Snake in game terms, Constrictors, which attack with Blunt Melee for cruching damage before finishing off its prey with Lethal Melee strangulation or crushing; and Poison Snakes which are much smaller than Constrictors and attack with Lethal Melee bites doing Terrible damage but also inflicting Affliction (Poison), usually lethal Poison.

WHALES

Whales are intelligent aquatic mammals with their own language. Whales are fully aquatic, open-ocean creatures. They can feed, mate, give birth, suckle and raise their young at sea. In opposite to most animals, they can drink salt water, although they prefer water coming from their food.Whales range in size from the 9 feet to the 100 feet Blue Whale, which is the largest known animal that has ever lived.
